I just realized this post was never posted back in November! Well here it in in January… Happy New Year! 🙂
Hello! I’ve been away for a few months but now I’m back! I was busy working on some new things and tending to family. On July 21, 2013 my 90 year old grandmother passed away. She was sick for quite awhile so I’m glad she isn’t suffering any longer but its hard for the family she left behind. I was fortunate to have this beautiful person in my life for 43 years… My gram, Bertha Jean Marquez, will be greatly missed!
I’ve also been working on new items for my Etsy shop (yfdesigns13). Working on new products and hopefully turning “Just Because” cards into something more…
People have asked me how they can get some cards to give out to other people so I have created a “blind pack” of (4) cards that I sell in my shop. You get (4) assorted cards of original watercolor paintings. I am still doing what I started out to do, give cards to people, just because, but now others can do the same and hopefully bring smiles to people I would never come into contact with! I’m excited to see where this can go!
I’m looking forward to giving out some of my new just because designs during this wonderful holiday season!!
I hope everyone has been well… Best wishes for beautiful memories with loved ones!
Painting with my gram … She created many smiles throughout her 90 years here on earth 🙂
July 1st! Where has this year gone?!! It’s been quite an adventure already! I have a few more cards done and I have a big pile of blanks to draw.
I sent out some cards last week and they have been well received. I appreciate the feedback and comments. It’s fun to surprise people sometimes! I’m going to be participating in an art event later this month so I don’t know how many cards I will be working on before this event but I will keep you posted on all the fun art stuff I have going on! Thanks for your continued support! YF
Well I finally had some time to create! I really miss not using this part of my brain! 🙂 I was thinking that I’d really like to give these little pieces names/titles. My idea is to have the recipient leave me a comment here with the number of the card (found in the back) and I will tell you the title/name of the piece! Fingers crossed that this will work! Happy Tuesday everyone!
It’s been quite a busy week for me! I finally moved and that’s a good thing, but I’ve not been able to make any new art. In the coming weeks I will be organizing my art supplies and getting into a new routine of creating art. I’m looking forward to feedback from the other artists I live with and from anyone who cares to comment on my new projects. =]
Got 10 more painted! I gave away about five cards since Wednesday… Feels good!
I gave out 3 cards yesterday… Made 3 people smile, in addition to myself! 🙂 Inspired me to draw up 20 more cards to be painted this weekend!
Hi there… My name is Yvette Franco, I am a working artist from southern California. I’ve decided to do something a little different to share my art. Making art is something I HAVE to do… Sharing my art with as many people as I can, is something I want to do. I’ve been told that my art is whimsical, happy, fun, and makes people smile. I want people to feel happy…and sharing one little piece of art can do that.
My plan is to give out trading card size (2.5″x3.5″) pieces of art to people I meet. Each card is original and no two will be exactly the same. Watercolor paint and ink are the two main mediums I will be using. I want to share with people I feel like I’ve had a connection with or people I think may be having a rough day & maybe just need a little “pick me up.” Maybe leave one with a tip to someone who gave really good service or to someone who is showing kindness to others or… JUST BECAUSE!! The cards can be kept or shared with others… My hope is someone out there will smile from it.
It seemed like a real simple concept at 3 o’clock in the morning when I came up with the idea… I hope it works!
Thank you for taking the time to read about me… Since you’re reading this, I hope that means you received a piece of art and you’re enjoying it or you passed it along to someone else who may have needed it more!
